Our Lady of Lourdes Church
Message from the Pastor
This Thanksgiving we have an opportunity to reflect on the many blessings in our lives. God has certainly blessed our parish with many beautiful ministries and organizations that do so much good. He has blessed us with wonderful parishioners willing to serve in so many different ways in our parish and community. Above all else, we give thanks for our Lord’s gift of Himself in the Most Holy Eucharist. This is what Eucharist means in Greek: Thanksgiving! We give thanks to the Lord, for He is good and His steadfast love endures forever.
In the Mass, there is a sacred reality that Jesus Himself is our High Priest and holy Victim offering Himself perfectly to the Father in the power and working of the Spirit. We then get to enter into this reality and offer ourselves with Christ on the altar: our joys, sufferings, triumphs, and blessings. The perfect offering of Thanksgiving is the gift our whole heart, mind, soul, and strength to our God who loves us perfectly and individually. I invite you, this Thanksgiving, to renew your commitment to Jesus Christ, especially in the Holy Eucharist.
May Almighty God bless you and remain with you, and may your families experience the abundant wealth of blessings that God wishes to bestow upon you. In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
