Becoming Catholic

Are you or someone you know interested in Becoming Catholic?  If so, you’re in the right place!  Our group, Becoming Catholic (known elsewhere as RCIA or Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults) is a place to journey towards full communion with the Catholic Church. Of course, the Holy Spirit moves throughout the year, so please feel free to call Will Wright, Dir. of Catechesis and Evangelization at 623-344-7288 or This email address is being protected from spambots. Bible Study at Our Lady of Lourdes Parish

St. Jerome says that "Ignorance of Scripture is ignorance of Christ." The entire Bible, both the books of the Old Testament and those of the New Testament communicate the revelation of God to us. Jesus is hidden in the Old and revealed in the New. Scripture is the driving force of doctrine. A large part of understanding Sacred Tradition is falling in love with Sacred Scripture and applying it to our lives. Of course, we need an authentic interpretation, given to us by the Church.

This past year, we have been working through the expansive Great Adventure Bible Timeline by Jeff Cavins with Ascension Press.

This study is now over, so what is next?

Next year, we will be transitioning our Bible Studies here in the parish to a small group model. You will be meeting once per week in the home of an old or new friend with 8-9 other parishioners. In these small groups, we will utilize Formed which is a free online resource with a tremendous amount of solid material. More information on these small groups will be forthcoming this Fall.
