Knights of Columbus
|
The Knights of Columbus is a Fraternal Catholic Organization for men. To become a member one must be a practicing Catholic in union with the Holy See. A prospective member must appear before an admission committee for an examination as to his qualifications for membership. Once a prospective member has passed the inquiry, all the pertinent information is entered on a form 100 and presented to the council‟s grand knight. The Form is then presented to the full membership for their approval. To become a knight, the prospective member must attend a first degree ceremony, with other prospective members from other councils. Once he completes this degree he will become a member of the order with full rights of membership. He will at that time receive a membership card, which must be presented at council meetings to be able to enter the hall. The Knights of Columbus is not a secret organization, only the ceremonials are secret.
